What you could see
- The ring of light around your hero is gone. Your hero carried a lamp-sized pool of light that cut a visible edge across whatever stood behind him. He reads against the dark by his outline now, which is what the outline was built for.
- The clouds are gone, and the swamp mist is back. They turned out to be the same effect in two places, so removing the bad one over the fields took the good one in the swamp with it. The swamp has its mist again.
- The hair palette had twelve empty slots. Sixteen hair colours are offered and only the four dyes had a colour behind them — Raven, Chestnut, Copper, Straw, Iron Grey and seven more drew as empty wells, and worse, choosing between them did nothing to your hair. All twelve work now.
- Buildings stop being cut open around you. The circle that makes scenery see-through was a hard hole: everything inside it was deleted outright, which took roofs and whole walls off houses you were only walking past. It has a soft edge now and a sensible size, and it clears what is actually over you.
The trees move
- Wind reaches the trees. They were rigid — in a storm, in a gale, on a still night, identical. Trunks stay planted and the crowns carry the gust, and they lean with the grass rather than against it.
- It is weather, not decoration: a calm night barely stirs the tops, and a storm moves them about three and a half times as far.
Fixed
- Dying no longer follows you back. Poison — and the spider's web slow — were only ever cleared when you started a new game, so if you died poisoned you respawned at full health with it still ticking, losing health from the fight that had already killed you. Nothing survives death now.
- Two developer menus were in your copy of the game. A test arena and a button that unlocked everything were meant to be stripped out of public builds and never were. They are gone. If you used them, your save is untouched.
Known Issues
- Some NPCs still slide their feet where they stand, and turn their whole body to watch you go past. A fix is being tested.
- The town floor still shows its seams and the gravel reads flat. Found and fixed, not yet in a build.
- Weapons other than the axe are still held wrongly — the blacksmith's sword is the next one.
- Female heroes still read too masculine in the face.
- Armour can still show skin through it at some poses, and above level 18 most pieces fall back to a generic set.
- Rain does not yet blow in the same direction as the grass and the trees.
- Men's body and face shape sliders are not in yet.
